366th FW opens ‘Gunfighter Grab &Go’ DFAC

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- The 366th Fighter Wing opened the ‘Gunfighter Grab & Go’ (G3) food venue, Jan. 12, 2021, to allow all MHAFB personnel a variety of food choices with hours that extend past regular duty times.

The venue’s hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 4:45 a.m. – 10:45 p.m., located at building 271 near the flightline.

“Since the removal of the flightline kitchen several years ago, there has been a need to provide shift workers a food venue with additional options that are more readily accessible,” said Maj. Ryan Davis, 366th Force Support Squadron commander.

This new convenience option will provide personnel the ability to grab items they may need during ‘odd’ hours. Airmen will also have the choice to use their ESM card, if they have one.

“This Non-Appropriated Fund operation gives the 366th FSS the greatest flexibility to meet their needs while allowing the greatest number of customers to be served,” Davis said. “We encourage all of MHAFB’s Airmen, military and civilian, and their spouses to enjoy this new option.”

Some of the options offered to personnel include snacks, hot and cold breakfast, lunch and dinner meals, all while providing healthy alternatives for personnel to enjoy.

These options are a direct response from a 366th FSS conducted survey - over 100 Airmen provided feedback about items they might need when they can’t leave the flightline.

"Being a maintainer, it's nice to have the ability to grab a meal when my work schedule can change at a moment’s notice," said Makayla Stray, 391st Fighter Squadron crew chief. "Before, I would have to bring my lunch."

The 366th FSS plans to improve the Gunfighter Grab & Go in the future.

“This grand opening ribbon cutting completes the first phase of a two-phase project,” Davis said. “Phase two will include more defined access from Phantom Ave and outdoor seating with other amenities.”
