Mountain Home AFB Exchange Named Best in Class

Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho --  The Mountain Home Air Force Base Exchange has been awarded the Director/CEO Cup for operational excellence. The award is the highest honor presented by the Army & Air Force Exchange Service.

The award recognizes leadership, expert customer service, innovation and business results. The CEO Cup is awarded annually to one large, medium and small operation. The Mountain Home AFB Exchange won the small category at the worldwide Main Store Manager/General Manager conference in Dallas, Texas, March 24.

The MHAFB Exchange engaged active-duty troops, military retirees, spouses, National Guard members and Reservists at various community events and meetings. Management forged personal bonds with installation leadership, and kept shopping experiences exciting with regular customer contests and prizes that ranged from gift cards to trips.

"We are ecstatic to receive this great honor," said General Manager Bonnie Lindahl. "Our team takes great pride in helping service members thrive. This award will serve as a reminder in the years to come on how the Exchange makes the lives of Airmen and their families better."

AAFES is a joint non-appropriated fund of the Department of Defense and is directed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible to the Secretaries of the Army and the Air Force through the Service Chiefs of Staff. The Exchange has the dual mission of providing authorized patrons with quality merchandise and services at competitively low prices. Shopping at the Exchange generates non-appropriated funds that supplement military morale, welfare and recreation programs.
