The 366th Medical Group welcomed a new commander during an assumption of command ceremony here May 26.

Col. Andrew Moore assumed command of the 366th MDG from Col. David Iverson, 366th Fighter Wing commander, inside the Gunfighter Club in front of spectators that included family, friends and local community leaders.

"Colonel Moore comes to us perfectly ready to take the reins of the 366th MDG," Iverson said. "I have great confidence that the entire 366th FW will benefit from your [Moore's] leadership. Your [his] experience and talents make you [him] the perfect fit to command and propel the 366th MDG to new heights."

Moore was previously the 779th Aerospace Medicine Squadron commander at Joint Base Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland and expressed his gratitude to be able to command the 366th MDG.

"To my medics, I am so proud to be your commander I can hardly stand it," Moore said. "We're going to come to work with a smile on our face and give this base the best medical care they've ever had."

As commander, Moore's responsibilities will include leading a full-service, 10-bed, community-based hospital operated by 397 military and civilian members across four squadrons. The 366th MDG provides comprehensive health care to more than 3,000 active duty and Air National Guard airmen and a total of 24,000 beneficiaries.
