Base Airmen earn CCAF degrees

  • Published
More than 70 base Airmen earn their associates degrees in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force during a spring graduation ceremony May 4 at the Gunfighter's Club.

Four of this year's graduates earned double degrees in their respective Air Force Specialty Code through the CCAF -- an accredited organization by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

The CCAF concept started in the early 1970s to recognize Air Force training and to enhance the skills of noncommissioned officers as technicians and leaders and increase their development as Air Force managers, according to base education center officials. The Community College of the Air Force opened April 1, 1972, at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas.
