The Visitor Control Center's pass and identification office is scheduled to move June 15 as part of a cost-saving measure here.

The office moves into Bldg. 800 on Phantom Avenue across the street from the Air Force Office of Special Investigation building here.

To prepare for the move, the pass and ID section closes 1 p.m. June 15 and reopens June 18, said September Bustamante, pass and ID clerk.

Moving the office to a centralized point on base will help streamline non-Department of Defense card holder's entry onto base by allowing their vehicles to be searched in one location and proceed to the pass and ID to complete all necessary paperwork, said John Lawicki, 366th Security Forces physical security manager. Long term passes such as contractor's badges, student and long-term house guests, will now be issued from the new pass and ID office.

The visitor control center at the main gate will still issue temporary visitor passes, and the Grandview Gate guards will issue temporary passes to commercial vehicle drivers and business guests.

For more information, call the current pass and ID office at 828-6098. To reach the office after June 18, call 828-4139.
