MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Officials with the 366th Comptroller Squadron recently named the following people as their warriors of the week.

2nd Lt. Michelle G. Kolcun

Unit and occupation: 366th Comptroller Squadron, Financial Management Officer

Time in the Air Force: Six months

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Four months

Hometown: Houston, Texas

Hobbies: "Lt Kolcun loves to shop, snowboard and volunteer. Being an collegiate cheerleader at the Air Force Academy, she also loves to stay active by playing tennis, racquetball and running."

What service does Lt. Kolcun provide to the Gunfighters? "Lt Kolcun is a Financial Management Officer currently assigned to the Financial Services Flight in the 366th Comptroller Squadron. Her flight is responsible for all military, civilian, and travel pay actions for the Gunfighter family. She's also the wing's Government Travel Card program manager responsible for providing guidance and training to unit program coordinators throughout the wing and for monitoring and managing the wing's compliance with Air Force and Department of Defense directives. Finally, she is one of the squadron's Exercise Evaluation Team members and Operational Readiness Inspection planners helping to ensure the squadron is ready to meet the challenges presented by the Air Combat Command Inspector General team when it visits the wing in March 2008."

Most memorable Air Force moment? "My most memorable Air Force moment was when the graduation parade music started to play on graduation day from the Air Force Academy. To this day, the music still sends chills up my spine and I can't help but smile whenever I hear it (I think all Academy Grads can second this feeling as well). My second most memorable Air Force moment also occurred that day when the words 'Class you are dismissed' were spoken as the Air Force Thunderbirds flew overhead."

Interesting personal fact: "I have my Private Pilots license with an aerobatic rating. I soloed at 16, competed in my first International Aerobatic Club competition when I was 16, and got my license when I was 17. I have nearly 370 hours of flight time."

Why does Lt. Kolcun deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Lt Kolcun hit the ground running when she arrived last summer and, in the short time she's been here, has made huge contributions toward mission success. Her positive attitude, energy, and enthusiasm are infectious and have helped the squadron stay motivated during Operational Readiness Exercises. Lt Kolcun is a true comptroller warrior!"

Most memorable Air Force moment? "My most memorable moment in the Air Force was spending time with my co-workers during one of our Operational Readiness Exercises. This was definitely a rare experience that I wouldn't have the opportunity to do in a civilian job and has made me much more appreciative of what the troops experience while deployed."

Interesting personal fact: "My husband and I had an opportunity, through a volunteer program with our local church, to house three Kenyan refugees this past August."

Why does Senior Airman Larsen deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Senior Airman Larsen has performed like a non-commissioned officer since the day she arrived on station. She's a natural leader and self motivator. She has never passed up an opportunity to step up and take on any challenge. If you need something done, she's the go-to person for dependable and reliable service."
