Officials with the 366th Fighter Wing Command Post recently named the following people as their warriors of the week.

Staff Sgt. Franklin Freeman

Unit and occupation: 366th Fighter Wing Command Post controller, non-commissioned officer in charge of console operations

Time in the Air Force: 10 years

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Two years, three months

Hometown: Montgomery, Ala.

Hobbies: Spending time with family, sports, coaching youth sports, reading, mentoring, and work.

What service does Sergeant Freeman provide to the Gunfighters? As an exercise evaluation team member and console operations NCOIC, Sergeant Freeman provides key details for the reaction-timing to wing operations directed by higher headquarters taskings. Sergeant Freeman also provides a variety of knowledge and experience incorporated into wing plans during revisions and coordination. As a CP controller he coordinates with numerous base agencies ensuring quick actions are taken during events and incidents providing information to higher headquarters and wing leadership.

Most memorable Air Force moment? As an Airman 1st Class stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base I was chosen to be given the title of senior controller, a NCO position. Shortly after being promoted to senior controller, the wing underwent an operation readiness inspection and I was awarded outstanding performer as a command post senior controller.

Interesting personal fact: I augmented the Barksdale AFB Honor Guard as a bugler during a funeral for a retired chief master sergeant in my unit.

Why does Sergeant Freeman deserve to be a warrior of the week? 'Free' is a confident NCO who always steps up to the plate ensuring the task at hand is done correctly. It's a rarity to see a staff sergeant handpicked for a senior NCO Group EET position and accomplish his duties so competently. Despite being a shift worker, he often puts in long hours during his off days. As NCOIC of console operations he recently finished the monumental task of recreating 40 checklists identifying and incorporating first responder and new wing recall actions. He has expertly managed a round the clock schedule despite less than 65 percent manning, developed wing recall roster tracking procedures, and was key to a flawless install of a new $300,000 phone console within the emergency actions cell.

Staff Sgt. Jeremy R. Young

Unit and occupation: 366th Fighter Wing Command Post information manager

Time in Air Force: Nine years, six months

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: 10 months

Hometown: Havre, Mo.

Hobbies: Golfing, snowboarding, shooting skeet and working out

What service does Sergeant Young provide to the Gunfighters? Jeremy provides computer and administrative support for the Command Post and Installation Control Center ensuring every CP system is ready around the clock, 365 days a year. He enables the wing to perform command and control actions in support of Homeland Security, National Defense, and Air Force operations.

Most memorable Air Force moment? I got an incentive ride in an F-15. Some people can go their whole career and never get the opportunity to go up in a fighter jet.

Interesting personal fact: I'm slowly becoming addicted to Guitar Hero.

Why does Sergeant Young deserve to be a warrior of the week? Jeremy is truly a tireless computer systems administrator. In the recent weeks, he has overhauled over 20 central processing units, updated over 69 proximity entry badges, organized a $36,000 audiovisual upgrade, inventoried accounts worth more than $120,000 and worked countless ICC and EOC technical issues. The CP is lucky to have such a skilled and dedicated information manager to deal with the myriad of computer and systems issues.
