Officials with the 266th Range Squadron recently named the following person as their Warrior of the Week.

Tech. Sgt. James Schmidt

Unit and duty title: 266th RANS Quality Assurance

Time in Air Force: 19 years

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: 12 years

Hometown: Dearborn, Mich.

Hobbies: "I enjoy outdoor family activities and athletic competition to include baseball, golf, and fishing."

What service does Sergeant Schmidt provide to the Gunfighters? "I perform personnel, technical, managerial and operational evaluations to ensure the 266th RANS provides quality and realistic electronic combat aircrew training."

Most memorable Air Force moment: "My deployment with fellow Army and Air Guard members in support of hurricane Katrina relief efforts was very memorable. I witnessed the destruction Mother Nature is capable of and helped people reestablish a normal way of life after their complete loss caused by the hurricane."

Interesting personal fact: "I went to school with former National Football League receiver Andre Rison."

Why does Sergeant Schmidt deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Tech. Sgt. Schmidt is truly a model Airman. He lives by the Air Force Core Values in all he does. This was proven during a recent deployment where he orchestrated the marshalling of 140 increments of cargo with a total weight exceeding 313 tons. His selfless acts played an integral role in a successful send off."

Senior Master Sgt. James A. Morrison
