366th Comptroller Squadron names its Warrior of the Week

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Officials with the 366th Comptroller Squadron recently named the following Airmen as their Warrior of the Week.

Staff Sgt. Rachel Towler

Unit and duty title: 366th Comptroller Squadron financial analyst

Time in service: 13 years and two months

Time at Mountain Home: Two years and five months

Hometown: Safety Harbor, Fla.

Hobbies: "I like camping, spending time with my family and reading.

What service does Sergeant Towler provide to the Gunfighters? "I provide budget and accounting support for operations and maintenance funding issues. I'm currently the financial analyst responsible for processing the 366th Medical Group's financial documents. In addition, I am the Government Purchase Card Customer Automation and Reporting Environment program manager. Each month, I ensure the wing's GPC bills are fully funded and timely payment is made to the bank.

Most memorable Air Force moment. "My first of many flights on a Black Hawk while deployed to Iraq. It was a very rare experience being assigned to a Joint Service Operation."

Interesting personal fact: "My heritage is Amish."

Why does Sergeant Towler deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Sergeant Towler has a service before self mentality. Although she is fully employed as the financial analyst for the 366th Medical Group and the base's Government Purchase Card program, she consistently helps other financial analysts with their daily responsibilities. In addition, Sergeant Towler shows a lot of initiative by taking on additional projects, one of which includes the weekly 366th Comptroller Squadron training schedule which ensures military members are trained for contingency operations."

Senior Airman Krystal Ballard

Unit and duty title: 366th Comptroller Squadron financial analyst

Time in service: Four years and eight months

Time at Mountain Home: Four years and three months

Hometown: New York City, but originally from Trinidad and Tobago

Hobbies: "I like reading, writing poems, biking, watching movies and fishing."

What service does Airman Ballard provide to the Gunfighters? "I provide finance customer service to all Gunfighters, military and civilian. I process civilian employee timecards and I'm the lead for all squadron civilian pay timekeepers. I'm also the financial analyst for the 366th Communication Squadron."

Most memorable Air Force moment. "My basic military training graduation. It reassured me that I can do anything I put my mind to. If there is ever a difficult task ahead, I always remember getting through basic."

What is an interesting fact. "I'm from a Caribbean island."

Why does Airman Ballard deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Airman Ballard provides outstanding behind-the-scenes finance customer service to the Gunfighters. During the recent base communication challenges that affected our finance systems, Airman Ballard helped implement a work-around solution to access the civilian pay system. This solution, along with the myriad of extra hours she selflessly worked in order to meet the payday deadline, ensured all Mountain Home Air Force Base civilians were paid accurately and on time."
