DeCA names its Warriors of the Week

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho --  Officials with the Defense Commissary Agency recently named the following people as their Warrior of the Week.

Rita Stives

Unit and duty title: DeCA lead store associate

Time at DeCA: Three years

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Three and a half years

Hometown: El Paso, Texas

Hobbies: "I like playing games online"

What service does Mrs. Stives provide to the Gunfighters? "The main service I provide for the Gunfighters is customer service. I do a little bit of everything to help our Gunfighters."

Interesting personal fact: "I worked on and raced my 1968 Camaro until I was eight months pregnant."


Most memorable Air Force moment: "My most memorable moment was being able to be with my daughter when she gave birth to my granddaughter."

Why does Mrs. Stives deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Rita deserves to be warrior of week because she believes treating the customer right is a top priority. She shows this with the personal attention she gives to each customer. Her abilities to train her co-workers on the aspect of customer service are of the highest quality and she is very deserving of this award."

Christina Walker

Unit and duty title: DeCA secretary

Time at DeCA: Five years

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: 25 years

Hometown: Mountain Home, Idaho

Hobbies: Listening to jazz and reading

What service does Ms. Walker provide to the Gunfighters? Information and customer service.

Interesting personal fact: "I wanted to work with tigers when I was young."

Most memorable DeCA moment: "When I was recognized as Employee of the Quarter. For so long you work hard and think no one is paying attention, it was nice to know management was paying attention."

Why does Ms. Walker deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Ms. Walker provides not only an administrative service to the organization but is always available to work in many other areas of the store. She is a mentor and willing to share her knowledge with everyone."
