Marna K. Snyder

Unit and duty title: 366th Medical Support Squadron pharmacy technician

Time in Air Force: Active duty from 1978 to 1990, Air Force Reserve since 1990, civil service since 1995

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: 17 years

Hometown: Logan, Ohio

Hobbies: "I enjoy camping, fishing, watching and playing sports, and volunteering for Hearts for Hospice and Elmore County Domestic Violence Council."

What service does Ms. Snyder provide to the Gunfighters? Ms. Snyder assists the pharmacist in providing accurate and timely prescription services to 14,000 active duty, retires and family members.

Most memorable Air Force moment. "As a civilian, I was presented with my 20 year pin symbolizing 20 years of service as a GS employee. My most memorable military moment was making E-9 and being inducted as a chief master sergeant."

Interesting personal fact: "I consider it an honor as a female to serve in the Air Force. I know I made my family proud to have attained the highest enlisted rank while achieving my own personal goal."

Why does Ms. Snyder deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Marna is consistently going above and beyond in her duties. The pharmacy is currently experiencing a manning shortage, and Marna volunteered to work an extra day per week to ensure patient safety and satisfaction and decrease the workload on the rest of the technicians. Her experience as a civilian and military pharmacy technician make her an indispensible asset to the 366th Medical Group pharmacy."
- Capt. Rebekah Mooney, 366th MDSS pharmacy services officer in charge

Airman 1st Class Kevin Kirkendall

Unit and duty title: 366th Medical Support Squadron medical logistics customer service

Time in Air Force: One year and two months

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: One year

Hometown: Miami

Hobbies: Working on cars, paintball and riding motorcycles

What service does Airman Kirkendall provide to the Gunfighters? Airman Kirkendall is the hospital's focal point for all medical and non-medical supply and equipment requests. He processes new item requests and follows up with customer service questions. In addition, he provides quality control for storage and distribution by reviewing all receipts of material.

Most memorable Air Force moment. "My most memorable Air Force moment is when I moved into my house on base. I never thought I would ever join the military. I remember when I first went to talk to the recruiter and filled out the application. The process took about five months before I left for basic military training. During BMT and technical school, it didn't seem real that I was in the Air Force. Once I arrived in Mountain Home, I still had to wait before I was able to move in. Once everything was said and done and we were finally settled, the idea finally set in that I was now an Airman."

Interesting personal fact: "In high school I was able to attend a mission trip to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. We drove down from Colorado Springs, Colo., in a couple of 15-passenger vans. We brought gifts for the children at an orphanage there. Before we crossed the border, we had to hide the gifts under the seats. The trip was an eye-opening experience as to what we take for granted here in the United States."

Why does Airman Kirkendall deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Airman Kirkendall does not quit when faced with challenges and obstacles. He takes them head on and at the end comes out more experienced and skilled. Every day he is faced with difficult questions and decisions from customers, and he gives 110 percent every single time."
- Capt. Pawel Nowacki, 366th MDSS medical logistics flight commander
