366th Operations Support Squadron names its warriors of the week

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Senior leaders with the 366th Operations Support Squadron recently selected the following individuals as their warriors of the week. The recognition program highlights members of the 366th Fighter Wing who make significant contributions to their unit and the base.

Capt. Christy "Roxy" Meress

Unit and duty title: 366th OSS wing electronic warfare officer

Time in Air Force: Almost eight years

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Just over two years

Hometown: Pinon Hills, Calif.

Hobbies: Hiking, mountain biking, running, camping, and snowboarding

What service does Capt. Meress provide to the Gunfighters? "Roxy" is responsible for all aspects of electronic warfare assessments and training for the 366th Fighter Wing. She is the wing weapons and tactics security manager and an F-15E instructor weapons system operator. She is fully qualified in all weapons systems and mission areas, and represents the operations group in the tower as a supervisor of flying.

Most memorable Air Force moment. Receiving my wings from my grandpa and my first flight in an F-15E Strike Eagle.

Interesting personal fact: I'm interested in studying wildlife biology.

Why does Capt Meress deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Roxy's" tireless efforts have significantly improved the combat capability of the 366th FW. She recently acquired three aircraft jamming pods worth over $250,000 each. She authored and directed the first ever airborne electronic warfare assessment procedures, referred to as the "Gunfighter Shield." Finally, her guidance and tenacity helped the wing garner the best results ever seen during the Nov. 2-6 Air Combat Command electronic warfare assessment program evaluation. We saw as much as a 67 percent improvement in some areas over last year's performance...completely blowing away the rest of the combat air force and garnering Capt. Meress her much deserved recognition as the "Warrior of the Week."

What service does Sergeant Bryan Reed provide to the Gunfighters? Weather support

Most memorable Air Force moment. Recently a coworker and I went to do an interview with Channel 6 in Boise. After the interview we were asked to present the weather on air to the public. So I got in front of the green screen and gave it a shot. Although there are quite a few other stories I'll never forget, that one is right up at the top.

Interesting personal fact: I've never eaten a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Why does Sergeant Reed deserve to be a warrior of the week? Sergeant Reed possesses a great deal of diverse perspectives derived from his last assignment at an Army weather detachment at Fort Bragg, N.C. I believe his keen ability to adapt to changing variables, which are inherent to our job, allow him to be an outstanding Airman and forecaster.
