Senior leaders with the 266th Range Squadron recently selected the following individual as their warrior of the week. The recognition program highlights members of the 366th Fighter Wing who make significant contributions to their unit and the base.

Staff Sgt. Sabrina Bonn

Unit and duty title:
266 Range Squadron Sagebrush Threat Director

Time in Air Force: 11 years and six months

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: 11 years and six months

Hometown: Boise

Hobbies: Spending time with family, scrapbooking, playing the piano, scouting, traveling and camping

What service does Sergeant Bonn provide to the Gunfighters? "I interface with all users of the Mountain Home Range Complex. My work requires me to coordinate requested ground based radar guided threat simulators against airborne targets. I help pilots from around the world gain confidence in the defense of their weapons system."

Most memorable Air Force moment. "I was deployed to Cold Lake Canada in 2001 as a threat operator in support of Maple Flag. During operations, my team and I locked onto an aircraft and began simulating a missile launch when the aircraft jammed our system. The engagement was very intense and a little bit of my excitement was caught on tape. During the debrief, with all players, the tape of that engagement was played and my squeal of excitement earned me the nick name of "squealer" for the rest of the deployment. The fun had over my nickname really brought our team together."

Interesting personal fact: "As a member of the Idaho Air National Guard, I have been able to spend my career here in Idaho, near my family. When I was born at St. Luke's, my paternal grandmother was the nurse in charge of the nursery."

Why does Sergeant Bonn deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Staff Sgt. Bonn has been instrumental in the rebuilding of the threat direction center that we call Sagebrush. Her positive upbeat attitude is her greatest asset and she provides outstanding customer service to the multiple users of the range complex."
-Maj. Curt Pool, 266th RANS operations officer
