Fire Prevention Week kicks off Published Oct. 7, 2016 By 35th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Staff Reports 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Colonel Jefferson O'Donnell, 366th Fighter Wing commander, signed a proclamation today declaring Oct. 9-15 as Fire Prevention Week at Mountain Home AFB. The Mountain Home AFB Fire Department will be visiting the Base Exchange, Child Development Center, Youth Center and Stephensen Elementary School throughout the week. Additionally, there will be an open house at Fire Station 1 from 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 12. This year's fire prevention focus is checking the date on smoke alarms. Smoke alarms must be replaced every 10 years to be effective. Smoke alarm companies place the manufacturing date on the back of the alarm so users know when to replace them.
