Maintenance determines quiet hours change Published Sept. 6, 2013 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Quiet hours at MHAFB have changed to 2-6 a.m. now through Oct. 3 due to a change in the uninstalled engine test location. The base's primary engine test location is currently under maintenance, requiring engines to be tested in the alternative location. It takes approximately five hours to remove and reinstall tested engines, thus creating a need to run aircraft until 2 a.m. Two to three engines will be tested at HH2 per week. Base residents near the flightline may hear aircraft engines running past 10 p.m. Normal quiet of 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. will resume once the maintenance is complete.
