Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday at Liberty Chapel Jan. 17. A variety of speakers such as Col. Christopher Short, 366th Fighter Wing commander, and Vincent Gordon, 366th Medical Group medical readiness manager, shared their thoughts on King. Gordon shared his thoughts on how King's achievements impacted his life in the past as well as the present. "Being able to speak on someone who was able to accomplish so much in such a short amount of time is truly inspirational," said Gordon. "The courage it took to take on a leadership role throughout the Montgomery boycott, I feel, really personified the man." For some, such as Short, listening to King was a very emotional moment. "I feel, while Dr. King would be proud of how far we have come, there will always be more to do - we are never finished," said Short. "This is a journey and we can always move forward. Each member of the team is capable of bringing something new to the mission, and that is what is important to focus on."
