Tops In Blue coming June 15 Published June 10, 2014 By Senior Airman Benjamin Sutton 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho - -- Tops In Blue, an all active-duty U. S. Air Force special unit made up of talented amateur performers selected for their entertainment abilities, will be performing here at 7 p.m. June 15 at Holt Park. During the free concert, attendees will hear a wide variety of music from Bruno Mars to Blake Shelton. Of course, no Tops In Blue show would be complete without the great, patriotic music that honors our nation and its heroes. Seating will be available but families are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the show. Tops In Blue is one of the oldest and most widely traveled entertainment groups of its kind. The group is composed of 35 to 40 of the most talented vocalists, musicians, dancers, and technicians anywhere; their primary purpose is to perform for military personnel and their families throughout the world. The team is comprised of active-duty members who audition for the opportunity to perform. The enormous popularity of the group has also made them America's goodwill ambassadors across the globe. Each year, Air Force personnel stationed worldwide compete in a multilevel competition for the right to be selected as a member of this elite organization. The Tops In Blue team serves as an expeditionary entertainment unit to provide quality entertainment from within Air Force resources for the Air Force family. The group also performs for Air Force personnel stationed worldwide at remote and deployed locations while simultaneously promoting community relations, supporting recruiting efforts and serving as ambassadors for the United States of America and the Air Force. The history of Tops In Blue spans more than 60 years. They first went on tour in 1953 and have been performing for hundreds of thousands of fans since.
