In his latest Airman-to-Airman message, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh III urged the men and woman of the Air Force to challenge themselves to be better at what they do.

Welsh said the message, part of an ongoing video series aimed at engaging Airmen throughout the Air Force, was inspired by an email he received from an Airman at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.

"Airman 1st Class Devin Nothstine asked me to challenge you to be better than you think you can be; I think that's a fantastic approach to our mission as the United States Air Force," Welsh said.

The chief of staff went on to encourage all Airmen, including himself, to accept Nothstine's challenge.

"I'll start by trying to become a better chief of staff of the Air Force and being a better person myself," Welsh said.

Until recently, Nothstine was assigned as a Broadcaster with the 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs office.
