MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE ANNOUNCES THE GUNFIGHTER SKIES AIR SHOW Published April 23, 2026 366 FW MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- The 366th Fighter Wing is proud to announce the Gunfighter Skies Air Show scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17, 2026. This free event will be open to the public and will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. "The Gunfighters are proud to open our gates and share our mission with the community we call home,” said Colonel D. Ray Gunter, Commander of the 366th Fighter Wing. “This event attaches a face to the mission, showcasing the skilled professionals and dedicated Airmen who make airpower possible. I encourage you to go beyond the aircraft and take the opportunity to meet the Gunfighters who serve our nation and hear their stories firsthand.” Gunfighter Skies will showcase the precision, capability and readiness of the U.S. Air Force. In addition to aerial performances, the event will feature a kids zone, various static displays and exhibits focused on STEM, history and more.  Each day of the air show, the base gates will open at 9 a.m., with the opening ceremony commencing at 10:30 a.m., and the show ending at 4 p.m. All guests must exit the base no later than 5 p.m. Attendees will pass through security checkpoints and will be subject to checks throughout the event. Minimize wait times and maximize the air show experience by planning arrival times early, utilizing designated routes to reduce congestion and follow the permitted and prohibited items list, which can be found on the air show website.
