1st Lt. Heather McDaniel

Unit and occupation: Fuels operations officer with the 366th Logistics Readiness Squadron

Time in service: Two years and four months

Time at Mountain Home: Two years and four months

Hometown: Lockhart, Texas

What service do you provide to Gunfighters? "I provide unparalleled fuels support to the aircraft and maintenance equipment on the flightline and all base-assigned vehicles. I am also the liaison between the aircraft maintenance units and fuels flight to ensure the mission and safety are top priority."

Hobbies: "I like reading historical fiction novels; fun runs and pampered chef parties."
Most memorable Air Force moment: "Addressing the airfield and aircraft status brief, in front of the operations group and fighter squadron commanders and aircraft maintenance units about the delay of the hot pit use on Echo Ramp. Everyone was misinformed and unaware of the true situation. Saying the hot pits were not available and not being able to give everyone what they wanted was a daunting task. Being a second lieutenant at the time, I wanted to make everyone happy, but I knew that if I gave them the date they wanted, I would set my troops us for failure and cause bigger problems in the future."

What is an interesting fact about yourself? "I can play the hand bells, flute, clarinet and almost the violin."

Why does Lieutenant McDaniel deserve to be nominated as a warrior of the week? "Lieutenant McDaniel acts as liaison the between flightline supervisors and our fuels operators. Heather provides outstanding customer service to the heart of our mission -- the flying program."
