What service do you provide to Gunfighters? "I provide expertise and assistance to the 726th Air Control Squadron on their operations, training and standardization and evaluation programs. I continuously monitor the training tempo and work to improve the quality of the training materials and realism for simulation events so that the operations crews are prepared for war."

Hobbies: Gardening and woodworking

Most memorable Air Force moment: "Every time everyone from the 726th Air Control Squadron comes back from Operation Iraqi Freedom -- safely."

Interesting personal fact: "My wife and I have been married over 28 years, and that includes 23 years on active duty."

Why does Bill McCarthy deserve to be recognized as a warrior of the week? "As a civilian contractor, Bill goes way beyond the call of duty and his job description to ensure [726th ACS] HardRock missions are accomplished. His passion and care for the squadron exceeds my expectations for those of a contractor he is an example for the active troops to emulate."
