MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Air Force Academy Cadet Matthew R. Robbins gets an up-close look at a cutaway version of an actual F100 turbo fan jet engine during the cadet’s visit to the 366th Component Maintenance Squadron’s jet propulsion flight here June 14. Cadet Robbins was one of nearly 20 Academy and Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets visiting the base during a three-week emersion into the wing’s combat mission as part of Operation Air Force. Bases like Mountain Home host the program each year to give these cadets a chance to shadow officers and noncommissioned officers in operational wings as part of their leadership development.
