Members of the 390th Fighter Squadron provided advisory support for the United States Air Force Weapons School by flying missions at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., starting July 23.

With their temporary duty assignment scheduled to wrap up Aug. 18, members of the Wild Boars supported Nellis' 16th FS and 17th FS by flying a variety of air-to-air missions as simulated enemy aircraft to prepare pilots for real-world situations.

"We represent a very high threat for Nellis' F-16s, which gives the students outstanding training," said Capt. Andrew Pence, 390th FS flight commander.

Based at Nellis, the weapons school teaches graduate-level instructor courses to provide the world's most advance training in weapons and tactics employment.

Courses increase intelligence officers' familiarity of the capabilities and limitations of friendly and enemy forces while honing their skills to a razor sharp edge, said Lt. Col. Aaron Prupas, one of the school's instructors.
