After an emergency evacuation of Bldg. 2610 earlier this week, the following offices moved to new locations where they will continue operations.

The 366th Services Squadron family home and day care center, the sexual assault office, postal service, Base Information Transfer Center and 366th Logistics Readiness Squadron customer service center have all been relocated to Bldg. 1506 next to the command post.

The postal service's number regarding general delivery or dormitory mail issues changed to 828-6238 while people with official mail questions can call BITC at 828-1135.

The SARC office will continue all operations, including training and deployment briefs, while operating from the same phone number. The day care center will also keep the same phone number.

The 366th SVS readiness and computer help desk have moved to the back of Bldg. 2427, the base library. The help desks can be reached at 828-2908.

The 366th Communications Squadron will continue to work on phone lines and computer connections to ensure full operational status of the moved offices243 while the 366th Civil Engineer Squadron will continue working with Bldg. 2610.

No one will be permitted to enter the building at this point, said Nathan Rowland, 366th CES deputy commander.

"Part of the roof structure has failed," he said. "The trusses have cracked and could pull the entire roof down."

After people working in the building noticed the ceiling tiles sagging, workers with 366th CES climbed up to the roof to fix the tiles and saw the trusses failing.

"The building was built in 1973 to be a commissary," said Mr. Rowland explained. "All the interior walls are cosmetic, not meant for support. We are investigating to see if we can save the building."

While the building remains closed, relocated offices will continue operations in new locations until further notice.
