388 ECS names its warrior of the week

Officials with the 388th Electronic Combat Squadron recently named the following person as their warrior of the week.

Capt. Samuel T. Hilyer

Unit and occupation: 388 Electronic Combat Squadron, Electronic Warfare Officer

Time in the Air Force: Five years

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: 3 years (Naval Air Station Whidbey Island)

Hometown: San Diego, Calif.

Hobbies: Creating new hip-phrases like "Chillax" and "Brosef"

What service does Capt. Hilyer provide to the Gunfighters? "He represents the Gunfighters in a Navy squadron by lending both tactical and administrative expertise."

Most memorable Air Force moment? "I participated in the first night of the "shock and awe" air campaign in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Being able to apply the combat training I have received was rewarding."

Interesting personal fact: "I played high school basketball, and started all 4 years at point guard."

Why does Capt. Hilyer deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Captain Hilyer has done an outstanding job as an Air Force representative in a Navy expeditionary flying squadron. He is a model aviator and his esprit-de-corps is valued by his squadron."
