MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Construction began on the Mountain Home Air Force Base Main Gate April 7. The $5 million construction project, which will continue through February 2009, will consist of increasing the number of inbound and outbound lanes; building a new visitor's center and guard facility; installation of permanent popup barriers; new lighting and force protection-oriented landscaping.
