The Grand View gate will open back up to full-time two-way traffic Monday, May 19.

Since the April 7 closing of the main gate, the Grand View gate has been one-way inbound traffic only from 6 to 8 a.m. This plan was introduced to minimize the buildup of traffic on Grand View Highway. Recent observations by 366th Security Forces Squadron and 366th Civil Engineer Squadron Airmen show that there will be more benefit to the wing by allowing two-way traffic at all times.

A sign stating "Right Turn Only from 0630-0730 Mon-Fri" will be installed at the Grand View Highway intersection; this is to ensure that traffic bound for Grand View or Simco Road does not cause significant congestion for outbound traffic or risk accidents with crossing traffic during peak flow.

Motorists should be aware that as a result of the change, there may be some increased delays during the 6 to 8 a.m. traffic rush since there will be more traffic at the Grand View Highway intersection. 366th CES personnel will monitor traffic flow closely during the first week after the change is made to ensure that negative impacts are minimal.

No other changes to the original main gate closure plan are being made at this time. For more information call the 366th CES operations and maintenance section at 828-3973.
