366th ADS splits, squadrons reactivate Published June 24, 2008 By Staff Sgt. Rodney D. Ivey 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- A ceremony held June 17 at the base hospital marked the reactivation of the 366th Aerospace Medicine Squadron and the 366th Dental Squadron as part of a reorganization of the 366th Medical Group. The 366th AMDS, which makes sure Gunfighters are fit for deployments and their daily duties, and the 366th DS, responsible for Gunfighter's oral health, were deactivated in 2001 when they were combined to form the 366th Aeromedical Dental Squadron. "This split, which is happening Air Force wide, is being done, in part, to spread out advancement opportunities for Airmen in various medical AFSC's," said Master Sgt. Jennifer Simon-Jones, former 366th AMDS superintendent and current 366th DS superintendent. "[This change] will be invisible to our patients who will continue to receive the best medical and dental care because that is what they deserve," said Col. Jerrold N. Flyer, 366th MDG commander as he addressed the crowd at the ceremony. The medical group will complete its reorganization in Aug. 2008 when the surgery flight will separate from the 366th Medical Operations Squadron to form the 366th Surgical Operations Squadron.
