Brian Stives 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- On Nov. 4, the United States will choose a new president, 34 U.S. Senators, 435 U.S. Representatives, 13 state governors and thousands of local offices and state referenda. Armed Forces Voters Week is Aug. 31 through Sept. 7. This week-long event is a great opportunity for anyone to register and request absentee ballots from your state. The Mountain Home Air Force Base Voting Assistance Program will have voting assistance centers in the base exchange from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to assist anyone who needs information and assistance in registering to vote and requesting an absentee ballot. In addition, if you don't need personal assistance or do not have the time to visit the assistance center, the federal voting assistance program has updated and revised their Web site so anyone can go to their Web site and obtain information about their state and register to vote and request their absentee ballot online. The Mountain Home AFB Voting Assistance program has voting assistance counselors in every unit on base. They are trained to help you find the answers you need to ensure you are registered and are able to cast your ballot. For more information, visit www.fvap.gov and click on the item that you need and you will be assisted through the entire process.
