Base housing officials remind residents of their responsibilities Published Sept. 23, 2008 MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Getting base housing can sometimes seem like an overwhelming experience, according to housing officials here. During the initial housing briefing, many documents are presented for signing and reading, housing officials said. One of these documents is the family housing brochure, which identifies most subjects related to housing. Even though residents receive the information regarding their responsibilities, many rules go unnoticed. Housing officials want to remind residents of the following rules and expectations: · Occupants are liable for damages to the house beyond normal wear and tear · Houses and yards must be neat and clean. Yards are inspected Tuesdays and Fridays, but violators can be cited at any time for not complying with the standards. House and yard appearance expectations can be found in the housing brochure with tips on how to keep residences up to par · Garage doors must be shut at all times when the residents are not present · If an occupant will be gone for more than 72 hours, arrangements for someone to watch the house must be made · Visitors staying in housing for more than 30 days must obtain prior approval from the housing office · Recreational vehicles and trailers that don't completely fit in garages or under carports must be stored in the RV lot with exceptions listed in the brochure. For more information, refer to the housing brochure available at the base housing office.
