  • Published
Officials with the 366th Civil Engineer Squadron recently named the following people as their Warriors of the Week.

Staff Sgt. Sarah Robson

Unit and duty title: 366th CES engineering journeyman

Time in Air Force: 8 years 3 months

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: This tour - 2 years 1 month, Total - 4 years 9 months

Hometown: Billings, Mont.

Hobbies: "I like playing computer games and reading books."

What service does Sergeant Robson provide to the Gunfighters? "As an engineering journeyman I provide geographic information system support in the form of maps, surveys, and data management and integrity; computer aided design support for renovations, design, maintenance of the base facilities; and I issue and maintain records of excavation permits from base occupants and contractors regarding utility locations. During contingency operations my support includes being part of the airfield damage assessment team and I am involved with minimum operating strip selection for airfield damage repair, bed down planning and layout."

Interesting personal fact: "I am fourth generation military."

Most memorable Air Force moment: "My first air show was, so far, my most memorable moment. I had never attended an air show, since over the past eight years I missed Gunfighter Skies 2000, 2003, and 2005. This year, I finally had the opportunity to attend Gunfighter Skies 2008. I didn't know at the time what my involvement with the air show was going to be other than a spectator. By the end of it all, to my surprise, I was involved with almost every organization that put the air show together. It was a great opportunity and I am honored to have been a part of it."

Why does Sergeant Robson deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Her "go" attitude is infectious. Being a cross trainee she brings aircraft experience to the playing field in CE, allowing a unique perspective for subordinates in her shop. She is also a huge asset to those in need; spending most of her spare time helping out various charities. You can tell by her smile she cares!"

Rodney Cruz

Unit and duty title: 366th CES engineering equipment operator leader

Time in Air Force: 25 years

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Three years

Hometown: Barrigada, Guam

Hobbies: "I like fishing and hunting."

What service does Mr. Cruz provide to the Gunfighters? "I provide daily and weekly work scheduling for the CE Pavements and Equipment Section, monitor work status and order and track material and parts. I am also a government purchase card holder and I fill in when the shop supervisor is unavailable or on leave."

Interesting personal fact: "I am an informal leader in the local community among the Chamoron people (Guamanians)."

Most memorable Air Force moment: "I received the Commander in Chief's Special Recognition Award for Installation Excellence in May of 2000 at Anderson AFB, Guam."

Why does Mr. Cruz deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Mr. Cruz is the CE Pavement and Equipment Shop's "go to guy" everyday on the job and also during the recent air show. He was invaluable by setting up, sweeping the airfield during the show and cleaning up after the event was over. I can count on whatever I ask of him to be something I don't have to worry about again. In fact, there are days when he is already making it happen before I ask. He is the best employee I have ever worked with in all of my 33 years in this business!"
- Dave Kinney, Pavements and Equipment Shop Foreman
