Officials with the 366th Fighter Wing recently named the following Airmen as their Warriors of the Week.

Tech. Sgt. Kurt Volker

Unit and duty title: 366th Fighter Wing Force Protection Office

Time in Air Force: 17 years

Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Three years and five months

Hometown: Sommerset, N.J.

Hobbies: I like riding motorcycles and the outdoors.

What service does provide to the Gunfighters? "I ensure all the preventative and defensive measures available are used to reduce the vulnerabilities to Mountain Home Air Force Base facilities, Department of Defense personnel, their families and their property against terrorist attacks."

Most memorable Air Force moment. "Becoming a military training instructor because it represents an elite team of professionals representing all the Air Force stands for, and the first real impression of what we are to a group of civilians who you adjust from a group of individuals into productive team members you would be willing to go down range with."

Interesting personal fact: I joined the Air Force on a dare 17 and a half years ago. I was only going to do it four years and get out.

Why does Sergeant Volker deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Sergeant Volker was instrumental in revamping an antiterrorism program in need of a proactive effort focusing on the prevention and detection of terrorist attacks against Mountain Home personnel, their families, facilities, and infrastructure."
- Douglas Pippin, 366th Fighter Wing Force Protection chief

Why does Airman Jones deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Airman Jones has worked in the 366th FW command section for almost a year; her main job is to process reports and decorations. She is currently filling in for the administrator deployed in the plans and program section and had the opportunity to help set-up computers for the Republic of Singapore and German air forces. She did a great job getting last minutes computers up and running."
