How to succeed during the upcoming inspection Published Jan. 7, 2009 By Master Sgt. Jeanne L. Hansen 366th Fighter Wing Plans and Programs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Here are a few items to help prepare your work center for the upcoming unit compliance exercise scheduled for Jan. 13 to 15. Remember, the exercise evaluation team members will evaluate the use of your self-inspection binders and are ready to provide you with the good, the bad and the ugly feedback to prepare the wing for the unit compliance inspection in the fall of 2010. Put on your game face: · Be proud of your shop - sell it! · Be courteous and willing to listen and learn from the inspector general or EET member's advice. · Don't guess or assume. Know the answers or know where to find answers. · Don't use phrases such as "I think," "hopefully" or "we're thinking about." · Be confident with your responses and have finite plans and answers. Inspection tips: · Don't deliberately cover anything up. Self identify problems, have a plan to fix them and document your progress. · The inspectors have a limited amount of time for each shop. Have a practiced plan to dominate the inspector's time and sell your shop. Highlight your shop's strengths and best practices and minimize their time and desire to dig for discrepancies. Individual preparation: Individuals need to remember things like: · OPSEC · COMSEC · Safety · Security (flight line, vault) · Who are your security managers? What do you do if you suspect classified material was compromised? · Who are your client support administrators? What do you do if you suspect a computer virus is on your computer? For more information regarding the inspection criteria, you can access the Air Combat Command IG Web site at https://igdata.acc.af.mil/PrepareTemplate.aspx.
