Air Force selects Gunfighters for senior master sergeant Published March 17, 2009 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- In an announcement March 5, Air Force officials selected 11 Gunfighters from Mountain Home Air Force Base for promotion to senior master sergeant. Air Force-wide, officials selected 1,450 of 13,216 eligible master sergeants for a nearly 11 percent selection rate, exceeding last year's 8.77 percent selection rate. Those selected for promotion here include the following individuals: 366th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron -- David Bernyk, David Daunce, Harvey McLean Jr., Aaron Renn and Clifford Young 366th Equipment Maintenance Squadron -- Sammy Lovett Jr., John McCoy Jr. and Robert Tarbox 366th Logistics Readiness Squadron -- Christopher Fowler 366th Security Forces Squadron -- Suzanne Silkett 726th Air Control Squadron -- Robert Hopper The average cutoff score for those selected was 661.49 points based on the following averages: 32.65 time in grade, 21.24 time in service, 135 for enlisted performance reports, 21.27 for decorations as well as an average score of 64.44 on the Air Force Supervisory Examination and 386.89 points on each person's promotion board score. Airmen can access their promotion score notices on the virtual Military Personnel Flight by logging in to the Air Force Portal. Those selected for senior master sergeant will sew on their new stripes based on their promotion sequence number beginning in April 2009. This is the first promotion release under the Web-based promotion release process to feature early notification for senior raters in response to requests from senior Air Force leaders. This early notification process is now available for master sergeant, senior master sergeant and chief master sergeant promotion lists.
