366th MXG names its warrior of the week Published April 7, 2009 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Senior leaders with the 366th Maintenance Group recently selected the following individual as their warrior of the week. The recognition program highlights members of the 366th Fighter Wing who make significant contributions to their units and the base. Staff Sgt. Christopher Lake Unit and duty title: 366th Maintenance Group quality assurance inspector Time in Air Force: 10 years and three months Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Two years and eight months Hometown: Mayfield, N.Y. Hobbies: "I enjoy playing golf and poker. I also love spending quality time with my two children." What service does Sergeant Lake provide to the Gunfighters? "I accomplish personnel proficiency evaluations, quality verification inspections and special inspections on the 366th Maintenance Group personnel and on 72 assigned 366th Fighter Wing F-15C/D/E aircraft and their associated support equipment. I also act as an aircraft systems subject matter expert and provides squadron and group commanders advice on technical matters." Most memorable Air Force moment: "My most memorable Air Force moment is definitely my incentive flight in an F-15E. Earning a ride in the backseat of one most advanced fighter aircraft in the world is an experience I'm proud of and will never forget." Interesting personal fact: "I attended culinary school and worked as a chef for six years before I joined the Air Force." Why does Sergeant Lake deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Sergeant Lake is instrumental to the 366th Fighter Wing providing combat airpower in support of warfighters operating in Afghanistan and Iraq. During the past 12 months, he has accomplished 587 inspections and scrutinized four squadrons and their execution of maintenance management programs. His oversight resulted in no noted defects in any quality assurance managed programs during the 2009 Logistics and Standardization Evaluation Team visit. Furthermore, Sergeant Lake recently deployed with the 389th Aircraft Maintenance Unit to the RED FLAG exercise where he directly contributed to the execution of 236 combat training sorties." - Maj.
