366th FW names its warrior of the week Published April 13, 2009 MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Senior leaders with the 366th Fighter Wing recently selected the following individual as their warrior of the week. The recognition program highlights members of the 366th FW who make significant contributions to their units and the base. Tech. Sgt. Christy Funk Unit and duty title: 366th Fighter Wing command chief assistant Time in Air Force: 10 years Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Six years combined Hometown: Phoenix Hobbies: "I enjoy sports and children's athletics." What service does Sergeant Funk provide to the Gunfighters? "I assist the 366th Fighter Wing commander and command chief with their daily tasks and administration duties and also provide them with computer support." Most memorable Air Force moment. "When I got STEP promoted ... it was totally unexpected." Interesting personal fact: "I'm married with three children and come from a long line of military family." Why does Sergeant Funk deserve to be a warrior of the week? "During a time when we've lost three of our Airmen, Sergeant Funk stepped up as the noncommissioned officer in charge and command chief assistant and trained a new airman, while ensuring the 366th Fighter Wing front office continued running smoothly and all the wing agencies continued receiving outstanding computer support. As the command chief, I remain busy and travel often, but I have no worries when Sergeant Funk is on the job. I just tell her where and when I need to be somewhere and she prepares all of the travel arrangements from start to finish. When the travel book is handed to me I know I will have airline tickets, a rental car, driving instructions, hotel reservations, who I will see and what the attire is. She makes my TDY travel and office scheduling stress free." - Chief Master Sgt. Ronald McCarthy, 366th FW command chief
