Starting June 2, several road improvement projects will begin in base housing areas.

Slurry seal will be applied to Maple Court, Linden Court, Redwood Court, Holly
Court, Ponderosa Circle, Willow Circle and Sycamore Court in the Woodland Groves area along with Bolt Circle in Desert Skies Estates in mid June. All vehicles must be moved off the streets during this time and pedestrians must remain off the roadways.

Handouts with schedules and temporary parking locations will be distributed to the residents in the affected areas. Pedestrian access to homes will be available with street closures lasting one to two days.

Reconstruction on Mellen Drive, between the two roundabouts on Eagle Drive and Falcon Street, will take place between June 2 and August 21. No traffic will be allowed on this street during the reconstruction work as the entire roadway will be removed and rebuilt.

Access in and out of James Taylor Circle will be through an improved, two-way asphalt roadway between the back cul-de-sac of James Taylor Court to the cul-de-sac at Raymond Smart Court/Circle. Fire, security forces and emergency services, as well as moving trucks, will have access to this area. Access in and out of Desert Vista will be through the south entrance of Beech Street and access in and out of Foxhunt Loop will be through the north entrance of Eagle Drive.

The first and second streets from Liberator Street into the Eagle View housing area will be repaved throughout the summer with minimal disruption to traffic.

"Maintaining high quality roadways is a high priority to our safety and security," said Maj. Christopher Buzo, 366th Civil Engineer Squadron commander. "We understand that these necessary road renovation projects will cause inconveniences to your daily routines. These projects will be completed as quickly as possible and will provide housing occupants of these areas with smoother and safer roadways to and from your homes."
