Brian Stives 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Air Force officials selected 7,724 of 37,172 eligible staff sergeants for promotion to technical sergeant for a selection rate of 20.78 percent. The average score for those selected was 319.69, with an average time in grade and time in service of 5.68 and 10.85 years respectively. The average score was based on the following point averages: 133.29 for enlisted performance reports, 67.67 for the promotion fitness exam, 56.78 for the specialty knowledge test, 40.54 for time in grade, 23.95 for time in service and 5.36 for decorations. The technical sergeant promotion list will be released publicly June 18 at 7 a.m. on the Air Force Personnel Center's public Web site and on AFPC's "Ask" site at Spotlight and Enlisted Promotions. At 8 a.m. the same day, individual score notices will be posted to the virtual Military Personnel Flight Web site and Air Force Portal Web site. As a reminder, the selections are tentative until the data verification process is complete, which is no later than 10 days after the promotion release date. AFPC officials will notify Airmen, via military personnel flights and military personnel elements, if their selection is in question. "This release has special significance because it is the first time in 12 years that the Air Force has not released the master sergeant and technical sergeant selection lists at the same time," said Chief Master Sgt. Michael Hall, the enlisted promotions and military testing branch chief. In 1997, the master sergeant and technical sergeant promotion release dates were combined to streamline the release procedure. However, since the inception of the virtual Enlisted Promotion Release Application, Air Force Personnel Center officials have made great strides to improve the promotion release process.
