366th SFS names its Warrior of the Week Published June 30, 2009 MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Senior leaders with the 366th Security Forces Squadron recently selected the following individual as their warrior of the week. The recognition program highlights members of the 366th Fighter Wing who make significant contributions to their unit and the base. Staff Sgt. Otis L. Chatham Unit and duty title: 366th SFS combat arms instructor Time in Air Force: Nine years Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Two and a half years Hometown: Madison, Ind. Hobbies: "Spending time with my two sons, hunting, fishing and riding my four-wheeler." What service does Sergeant Chatham provide to the Gunfighters? "I provide training, maintenance and inspection capability for all 366th Fighter Wing personnel and small arms ground combat weapon systems assigned to Mountain Home AFB and its assigned detachments." Most memorable Air Force moment. "My most memorable experience was a 365-day temporary duty assignment to Afghanistan. I was part of a provisional training team from the 438th Air Expeditionary Advisory Group assigned to the Afghan Army National Air Corps. I 'bare based' an armory then performed in-depth instruction to the AANAC in armory operations and security measures. We also set up a combat arms facility and began establishing their weapons training and maintenance capability. Training what had been a local villager a few weeks ago into a functional fighter against Al-Qaida was exhilarating. Being an ambassador of the U.S. Air Force to a foreign military and teaching them from the ground up was a once in a lifetime opportunity." Interesting personal fact: "Both my sons have mohawks." Why does Sergeant Chatham deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Sergeant Chatham is the combat arms assistant NCOIC and truly keeps the shop running. He provides excellent instruction and outstanding customer service to every squadron and agency on the installation. He is a valuable member of the 366th SFS and a great asset the 366th FW." - Master Sgt. Jeff Gates, 366th SFS combat arms NCOIC
