366th FSS names its warriors of the week Published Sept. 1, 2009 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Senior leaders with the 366th Force Support Squadron recently selected the following individuals as their warriors of the week. The recognition program highlights members of the 366th Fighter Wing who make significant contributions to their unit and the base. Tech. Sgt. Linda Schulze Unit and duty title: 366th Force Support Squadron lodging noncommissioned officer in charge Time in Air Force: 12 years Time at Mountain Home Air Force Base: Two years Hometown: Kingman, Ariz. Hobbies: Medieval re-enactment, archery, reading and cooking What service does Sergeant Schulze provide to the Gunfighters? Sergeant Schulze delivers world-class service to more than 3,000 customers each year. She is in charge of more than 200 lodging rooms and $20 million in lodging assets. Most memorable Air Force moment. "While working in mortuary affairs at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, in 2006, my team received a call that a plane had crashed with nine fellow Airmen on board. The coordination that everyone did to help with the families affected by this tragedy was awe-inspiring and really helped me realize that 'we are a family' is not just a slogan." Interesting personal fact: "I make armor and metal chainmail with my husband." Why does Sergeant Schulze deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Sergeant Schulze deserves to be warrior of the week due to her exceptional performance and leadership. Her efforts consistently leave a positive impression with customers. Sergeant Schulze's unwavering positive guidance and meticulous organization as NCOIC of lodging are truly noteworthy." - 1st Lt. I was born overseas and moved every four years. This is the longest I've ever stayed in one place." Hobbies: Horses, outdoors, fishing, horses, camping, scrapbooking and horses What service does Ms. Playle provide to the Gunfighters? Not only does Ms. Playle contribute to the wing's mission by processing passports, she also does all military passports for most of Idaho. She is also the awards and decorations monitor and averages more than 100 decorations a month including incoming and outgoing Airmen. She is also responsible for issuing identification cards to all military members and their dependents. Most memorable Air Force moment. "When a technical sergeant called from overseas and informed us his master sergeant stripe was being held up because he was missing his first Air Force Commendation Medal from this base from years ago. I was able to locate a copy and send it to him. I love the fact that I can help our military folks out; whether it's getting their passports for a change of duty station or finding a missing decoration that affects promotion." Interesting personal fact: "I actually love my job!" Why does Ms. Playle deserve to be a warrior of the week? "Patricia has a daily impact on the mission of the 366th Fighter Wing. She insures passports and VISAs are obtained in a timely manner so individuals can continue to carry the mission overseas. She is currently working a large deployment to Chile, single-handedly insuring each person has their passport and VISA in hand prior to their departure date." - Bob Sherman, 366th FSS site leader
