Piece Force Quilters looking for fellow quilters

  • Published
For people on base looking for a place to quilt with like-minded people, the Piece Force Quilters meet the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Airmen and Family Readiness Center.

"Our goal is to share the love and art of quilting with others," said Susan Heller, PFQ organizer.

Quilters of all levels of experience are welcome to come. The next meeting will be held Oct. 6.

Quilters are also needed to help out with Hammond Quilt Day Oct. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the AFRC to make baby bundles, which are presented to families with newborn babies at the 366th Medical Group. The bundles honor the memory of Airman 1st Class Walter James Hammond IV, who was a volunteer at the Gunfighter attic and passed away Feb. 6, 2004.

"All our supplies are donated and volunteers are what make this program such a success," said Ms. Heller. "If you don't sew, we need people who can cut for us or tie the yarn used on the quilts. We can use your help for as little or as much time as you can give."

Coffee and tea are provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring a dish to share for lunch.
