CCAF graduation to be held Nov. 6 Published Nov. 2, 2009 MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- The Mountain Home AFB Fall 2009 Community College of the Air Force graduation ceremony will be held Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. at the Gunfighter's Club. The traditional graduation ceremony honors the dedication and determination of the individuals completing this academic achievement. The CCAF concept evolved in the early 1970s as a means of gaining recognition for Air Force training. Visionaries recognized the need to enhance the skills of noncommissioned officers as technicians, leaders and citizens and increase their development as managers. CCAF was established April 1, 1972, at Randolph AFB, Texas, and is accredited through Air University by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The graduates have balanced family obligations and military duties to complete the academic requirements that led to the conferral of the associates of applied science degree. Families and friends, commanders, supervisors and co-workers are encouraged to recognize and celebrate this educational milestone and honor the achievements of the graduates at the graduation ceremony.
