H1N1 vaccine now available for active duty personnel

The H1N1 vaccine is available on a first come/first serve basis at the base immunization clinic for active duty personnel and high priority groups including: pregnant women, people who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age, healthcare and emergency medical services, people between the ages of 6 months and 24 years old, people 25 through 64 years of age with chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems. It is also available for free for high priority groups at the Mountain Home Central District Health Department Office by appointment only. To make an appointment call 587-4407 ext. 5.

The Boise Central District Health Department also has free H1N1 shot clinics from 3-7 p.m. every Monday on a first come/first serve walk-in basis. They are located at 1195 N. Milwaukee St. (Former Comp USA Store). For updates go to http://cdhd.idaho.gov/index.htm.

Reminders: All children six months to nine years of age need two H1N1 vaccinations at least 28 days apart. For children vaccinated at local schools, including base primary, contact one of the above clinics for the second shot.
