Base hospital receives first sim-based hypoxia demo for fighter aircrews

Kevin Connolly, 366th Medical Group commander, on the first on base sim-based hypoxia demo for fighter aircrew Dec. 16. The simulators help familiarize aircrew with the physiological and psychological stresses of flight. Without the aid of an oxygen mask aircrew experience symptoms of hypoxia, an oxygen deficiency of the tissue and blood cells that causes impairment of function at high altitudes.
