366th MSG welcomes new commander Published April 7, 2010 By 1st Lt. Neil Samson 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Col. Scott Moser took command of the 366th Mission Support Group in an assumption of command ceremony April 7 at Hangar 1331. Colonel Moser replaces Col. Jeffrey Maxwell, who is deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan for a year. Colonel Moser was recently assigned as the director of communications and chief information officer of U.S. Special Operations Command Europe, Stuttgart, Germany. He has also served as the commander of the 5th Combat Communications Support Squadron, Robins Air Force Base, Ga. and as the commander of the 89th Communications Squadron, Andrews Air Force Base, Md. Colonel Moser received his commission in 1989 after graduating from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri. He completed Air Command and Staff College in 2002, and graduated from the Air War College in 2004. Colonel Moser offered his thoughts on his new assignment. "I am honored and excited to join the Gunfighter team in the position of excellence it has established. I look forward to leading the Mission Support Group in its continued tradition of excellence," he said to Gunfighters and leaders of the local community. "I look forward to meeting each of you and becoming a member of this community." "At the Air Force level this year, the 366th Mission Support Group had six individual awards and three programs that were recognized," said Col. John Bird, 366th Fighter Wing commander, "Men and women of the 366th Mission Support Group are a special group of people which touch all elements of the Gunfighter mission, and they have exhibited a truly amazing performance."
