726 ACS gears up for annual deployment Published Sept. 10, 2010 By Senior Airman Roy L. Lynch III 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- -- More than 160 personnel from the 726th Air Control Squadron deployed to Southwest Asia in support of Operation New Dawn on Aug. 31 and Sept. 6. The 726th ACS has been deploying one-third of their squadron for the last four years. "It became a routine for us to deploy every year" said Master Sgt. Jeremy Holt, 726th ACS unit deployment manager. "That is why we are always prepared to go." The 726th ACS mission is to provide unparalleled air battle management to joint air, land and sea power anytime, anywhere. "There are 27 different Air Force Specialty Codes at the 726th ACS," said Sergeant Holt. "We have Airmen who can go anywhere at any time to set up an airfield without any assistance from supporting agencies." When a squadron deploys as much as the 726th, it is important to have a strong support system in place for those left behind. It is also important for those leaving to know their families will be looked after so they can focus on their mission. The Hardrock Spouses group fills this role for the 726th ACS. "We are proud and honored to do our part, said JoAnn Carpenter, 726th ACS Hardrock spouses leader. "Most servicemembers will have to go through a deployment at one time or another and with good communication and a strong support system it will make these times less difficult." The HSG handed out care packages filled with goodies to the deployed members as they were boarding the bus to the plane. Anyone who would like to contact a member of the HSG for support during a deployment can e-mail hardrockspouses@gmail.com.
