Candidate's Rank and Name: A1C Bridget Powell Unit and duty title: 366th Aerospace Medical Squadron, Public Health Technician Time in Air Force: 2 years 4 months Time at MHAFB: 2 years Hometown: Mertzon, Texas Hobbies: I enjoy watching my Texas sports teams (Longhorns, Cowboys and Rangers), hunting, fishing, target shooting and hanging out with my husband and dogs. What Service does the A1C Powell provide to the Gunfighters: I medically clear all deployers to ensure we are only sending healthy individuals and ensure we are taking care of our members returning home from deployment. Most memorable Air Force moment: The day my joint-spouse orders got approved and I was able to come back here to Mountain Home. Interesting Personal Fact: I'm a huge John Wayne fanatic- my dogs are even named after him (Jake Hondo and Duke Marion). Why does A1C Powell deserve to be warrior of the week? Airman 1st Class Powell is a very driven and self motivated Airman. She owns any program she has been given and it has always shown to be a success. Candidate's rank and name: 1st Lt. Lora Wolski Unit and title: Public Health, Flight Commander Time at MHAFB: 2 months Hometown: Chicago, Illinois Hobbies: I enjoy playing tennis, reading health books and watching action movies. What service does 1st Lt. Wolski provide to the Gunfighters? I manage the Public Health Flight. Public Health technicians provide many services to our Gunfighters. Our technicians process retraining and special duty clearances, review all duty and mobility limiting conditions for accuracy and compliance with current instructions and coordinate with unit deployment managers to ensure that all deploying personnel meet all medical requirements prior to leaving for deployments. They also ensure that all personnel returning from deployments have all their medical issues addressed, provide audiograms to personnel who are exposed to hazardous noise and monitor hearing loss, routinely inspect all food and non-food facilities on base and monitor disease trends to prevent outbreaks. Most memorable Air Force moment: My most memorable Air Force moment was the time I was offered a commission. At that time, I was an enlisted member of the Air Force Reserve. This offer marked the achievement of my goal and the reward for all the personal sacrifices made to complete my Master's degree. Interesting personal fact: I could spend hours just watching the F-15's in the sky. Why does 1st Lt. Wolski deserve to be warrior of the week? First Lieutenant Wolski embodies the Gunfighter spirit. When she first arrived, she dove into the job, attended training, and managed critical requirements prior to in-processing and securing housing. She is a great addition to the team!
