LRC ground breaking Published Nov. 16, 2010 366th Fighter Wing public affairs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- The Logistics Readiness Center ground breaking ceremony was held Nov. 9. The ceremony kicked off a $14.2 million construction project to consolidate logistics functions spread all over base (including supply, inbound/outbound freight, packaging/preservation and mobility bags/weapons) from 10 facilities to two and is estimated to be complete by 2012. The project will demolish structurally unsafe facilities and build replacement facilities for the Logistics Readiness Squadron and Civil Engineer Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight. The main new LRC facility includes an 85,000 sq. ft. building with warehouse, admin, personal vehicle, parking and loading dock areas. The LRC is designed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design "Silver" standards and will be a "state of the art" facility with respect to energy and the environment.
