Currently in the process of expanding the Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April) to include community involvement from the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence, FACES, Nampa Family Crisis Center, Mountain Home Police Dept., and the Boise Veteran Affairs Department. This collaboration between Mountain Home AFB and the community, in its prevention against sexual assault, benefits airmen by raising awareness of not only base resources but The City of Mountain Home, Boise, Nampa and other communities where our airmen and family reside. This outreach is also meant to support/raise funds for several non-profit organizations that rely solely on donations both monetary and goods such as clothing, diapers, baby formula and so forth. Interesting personal fact: Patricia's love for travel has allowed her to visit over 25 countries in an 8 year period. Why does Patricia deserve to be a warrior of the week? Patricia exemplifies "Service before Self". She has contributed valuable experience and knowledge to the program from her time as an active duty member, but as a civilian employee, she goes above and beyond her job description. Patricia immediately volunteered her time to work with victims, is eager to learn more about the program, and how she can assist Airmen and their families. In addition to her full-time job as my Assistant, status as a Victim Advocate (VA) Team Leader and active VA, she volunteers for various fundraisers and activities within her community, the Treasure Valley. She eagerly seeks to gain the professional skills necessary to teach various mandatory trainings and briefings for the program, and continually seeks personal and professional self-improvement, all while balancing a family life. She maintains a positive attitude and provides encouragement to those in need of a kind word, or simply someone to listen.
