Personnel from the 366th Fighter Wing and 428th Fighter Squadron "Buccaneers" celebrated the fourth anniversary of the Peace Carvin V agreement May 19 with music, food and games.

The event was a great way for the squadron to come together and promote esprit de corps with their family members, friends and neighbors.

"Every opportunity we have to get the team together allows us to increase our morale," said Lt. Col. William Marshall, 428th Fighter Squadron commander. "The anniversary is a chance to showcase the creative abilities of our team, celebrate our past accomplishments, recognize our annual award winners, and share our Buccaneer pirate culture with local community leaders."

The event also provides an avenue for families to come out together and strengthen bonds with each other and the wing.

"The Peace Carvin V agreement is an integral part of the base mission, said Marshall."We are a unique part of the Gunfighter team and have embraced its culture. The wing has done a great job of supporting the program and this occasion allows us to recognize what we've done together while having a lot of fun."

The Buccaneers held their first anniversary event May 18, 2010.

"Ever since 2010 the Buccaneers have celebrated as a way to reward each other for a job well done throughout the past year," said Republic of Singapore ME4 Eng Soon Lee, 428th Fighter Squadron command chief. "This year it's even more significant because the commander and command chief Air Combat Command are visiting. Both expressed to me how impressed they are with the relationship we have built in a short span of four years."

MHAFB is unique among USAF bases due to the partnership with the Republic of Singapore Air Force.

The agreement with Singapore is an integral part of the MHAFB mission and adds a unique element to the Gunfighter team," said Marshall. "I'm extremely proud of what we have done and honored to be the 428th FS commander. I look forward to what this fantastic team will accomplish in the years to come."
